PeopleSoft Alumni Network Reunion in Dallas - Oct 4, 2007

Washington DC Event Debrief

That’s right, more than 60 attendees enjoyed food, drink, and a lot of fun at the Washington DC Area PeopleSoft Alumni Network event at McCormick and Schmick’s on September 20th.  Collaborative Solutions, a PeopleSoft and Workday consulting partner, sponsored the event.  The generosity of the PeopleSoft alumni came shining through with more than $1,300 donated to Cure Autism Now / Autism Speaks through online donations and raffles at the event, including a generous contribution from the PeopleSoft Alumni Network Career Center.

Thanks to our sponsors, members won gift certificates to McCormick and Schmick’s, custom jewelry from fellow PeopleSoft alum (and Collaborative Solutions employee) Jennifer Tomaselli, and an iPod shuffle.  Most importantly, members caught up with each other and traded stories. 

The organizing force for the event, PeopleSoft alum Bob Maller, now with Collaborative Solutions, said afterward, “The spirit of PeopleSoft lives on.  People are absolutely amazed that we are holding reunion events regularly in cities around the globe.  And there’s also a rumor Kevin Parker and Deltek will host the next Washington DC area PeopleSoft Alumni Network event!”

Are you a former PeopleSoft employee now working at Oracle?

In July, the PeopleSoft Alumni Network voted to change our bylaws.  In our early days, our focus was to help former PeopleSoft employees who had been laid off at Oracle.  Now most of those people are working at new companies -- and many former PeoplePeople working at Oracle want to connect with their old colleagues.  So we put it to a vote, and with a 92% pass rate, we've changed our membership policy to include former PeopleSoft employees currently at Oracle.

San Francisco Bay Area PeopleSoft Alumni Network Event

The PeopleSoft Alumni Network held a San Francisco Bay Area event on Thursday, June 21, in Dublin, California.  We took in three large boxes of care package items (and $360 of "procrastinator" cash donations, which we'll use to buy more in a run to Costco) for the troops, which we're collaborating with Blue Star Moms to send to some of our members, family and friends who are serving in the U.S. Military in Iraq.

PeopleSoft Alumni Toronto Event

On January 24th, there was a very impressive PeopleSoft Canada Alumni event in Toronto - and over $1,110 raised for a local food bank!  Thank you to Pete Smith for forwarding the link to some fun photos and blog entries.

PeopleSoft Alumni Event in Paris

On March 14th, 2007, PeopleSoft Alumni gathered at the Wagon Bleu in Paris France!  On this beautiful location overlooking the tracks from Gare Saint-Lazare over 130 of PeopleSoft France ex-employees gathered to drink, dine, chat and dance for the first time since Oracle's acquisition.  Photos are here.

Over a 130 people is an amazing number -- more than 50% of Paris office's employees.

There was a little dancing, and a lot of chatting and drinking. The party went on till late hours of the night as no one was eager to leave.
